Odd or even goals is settled by adding the goals in the selected market period and checking whether that number is odd or even. Zero is even: a 0–0 full-time result wins an Even total-goals selection under MSport Nigeria and Bet9ja football rules. The combined tally determines the ordinary market.

What does odd or even mean on a football coupon?

An odd total is 1, 3, 5 and so on. An even total is 0, 2, 4 and so on. Add the two sides’ goals after the stated period, then classify the sum. A 2–1 result has three total goals and is Odd; 2–2 has four and is Even.

Bet9ja and MSport Nigeria both describe a full-match Odd/Even goals market. MSport explicitly states that a 0–0 result is Even. This matches the arithmetic: zero can be divided by two without a remainder. A goalless match therefore belongs to the Even outcome.

Full-match total-goals examples
Score Total goals Winning side
0–0 0 Even
1–0 1 Odd
1–1 2 Even
2–1 3 Odd
2–2 4 Even

The winning team alone gives too little information. Home can win 3–0, giving an Odd total, or 3–1, giving an Even total. You need the combined score at settlement, not a prediction about which side is stronger.

Full match, first half and team-only variants

Odd or even goals appear under several period and team labels. Some operators place these labels together. MSport Nigeria lists full-match Odd/Even, first-half Odd/Even, second-half Odd/Even and odd/even goals by the home or away team. Each uses its own goal count.

Suppose the half-time score is 0–0 and the final score is 2–1. First-half Even wins because that half has zero goals. Full-match Odd wins because the match has three. Second-half Odd also wins because all three goals came after the break.

For a team-only example, take a final score of 2–1. Home Team Even wins because the home side scored two; Away Team Odd wins because the away side scored one. A home team with zero goals has an Even team total under MSport’s published rule.

Read the complete market title on the coupon. “Odd/Even 1st Half” and “Odd/Even Home” can sit near a plain “Odd/Even” option, yet settle using other goals from the same final score.

What score and period settle the bet?

MSport Nigeria’s soccer rules use the scheduled match minutes plus injury time for standard outcomes. The regular full-match Odd/Even selection therefore takes the score at the end of normal time, including stoppage time. A knockout match can go to extra time while that selection is already settled.

If the market specifically names extra time or another period, follow that label. Use the normal-time score before any shootout. A shootout decides a tie through a separate procedure; the ordinary match score remains 0–0.

Own goals still alter the team score, so they affect the combined total. If an own goal creates a 1–0 final score, the total is one and Odd wins. The team score alone sets this total-goals outcome.

A quick check before confirming

Identify the period, identify whose goals are counted, then list the totals that win. For a full-match Even bet, the set starts at 0, 2 and 4. For Home Odd, use only the home side’s tally: 1, 3 and 5 are examples.

Odd and Even can have different prices. Even includes 0–0, but the offered price reflects many possible scores and the operator’s margin. Review the actual market rules and stake within your own limit.
